Vitamin Shot or IV Drip: Which Should You Get?

In our opinion, an IV drip is the better choice over vitamin injections. Comparing a vitamin shot vs IV drip, we prefer the drip because you also get hydration, a higher concentration of the vitamins and better absorption. A shot takes 10 to 15 minutes, a drip about 45. At Key Basis IV, if you have time to sit, we would pick the drip 10 times out of 10.

Vitamin shot vs IV drip: which is better?

In my opinion, the IV drip is better. You're going to get the hydration as well, you get a higher concentration of the vitamins, and you get better absorption. If you have the time to sit down for a drip, I would do the drip 10 times out of 10.

I think people who book shots usually book them because they don't really know about the drips. Honestly, I would get the drip.

If you have never had a drip, the Saline Hydration IV is the quickest drip on our menu. It is 1000ml of saline with electrolytes and one vitamin of your choice, for $199, or $100 for members. That is $59 more than the $140 minimum for a shot visit. The Myers Cocktail IV is the classic vitamin and mineral drip. It has calcium, magnesium, B complex, B12 and vitamin C, and it is $319, or $160 for members. Every drip and price is on the full IV drip menu.

How long does a vitamin shot take compared to an IV drip?

A shot is the quicker visit. Our vitamin shot appointments normally take 10 to 15 minutes, whether you book B12 shots, a glutathione injection or a Mineral Blend injection. A drip usually takes about 45 minutes.

So the real question is whether you have the time to sit. If you can give it about 45 minutes, a registered nurse from our own team places the IV at your home, hotel or office, and you relax while it runs. If you only have a few minutes, the nurse gives you the shot in one short visit.

Why is there a $140 minimum for a shot visit?

Vitamin shot appointments at home have a minimum cart of $140 before discounts. Single shots like B12, glutathione or the mineral blend are $79 each on our Vitamin Injections Miami page. One $79 shot on its own falls short of the minimum, so two of them ($158) would cover it.

Why do we have a $140 minimum for a shot visit? It's just to make it worth our while. That's what gets us out there, and that's what makes it worth it for us and for our nurse.

There might be more cost effective options out there for you if you go to a clinic and get the shot. If you want it done at your house, though, that's what it's going to cost if you want to do it with us.

If you get a membership, you would save on it, but you have to get the membership. It is $80 a month with no sign up fee. Members get 50% off, so a $79 shot is $39, and every IV is half price too. The $140 minimum is counted before the discount, so a member booking two $79 shots ($158) pays $39 for each one.

Is a telehealth prescription better if you want regular shots?

If you're not getting the drip and you want to get a shot, then I would recommend getting a prescription, like a telehealth prescription for the injection you're looking for. That way you don't have to pay each time you want to get a shot, because paying per visit is not as cost effective.

We'll be offering those services relatively soon. By December, we should have that launched. If you're interested, check out our Prescription Peptides in Florida page. There are vitamin injections and peptides there, and you can sign up for more information.

What if you prefer shots, or your doctor told you to get them?

Some people do just prefer shots and they stick to it, and that's completely fine. We're not going to try to convince you, especially if your doctor told you to get these shots twice a month. By all means, get them.

It's not our job to try to supersede your doctor. If you want those shots at home, book them online on Vitamin Injections Miami and a registered nurse from our own team comes to you.

Can you add a Vitamin D3 injection to your IV?

Yes, and I think that's a great idea. There are certain things that have to be injections. Vitamin D3 has to be an injection. It can't be done as a push or as an IV.

So a lot of times people will get their IV and then get a Vitamin D3 injection added onto it. On our drip menu, Vitamin D3 is a $49 add on. Members pay half, which is $24.50. Tell your nurse you want it, or add it when you book.

How to book a vitamin shot or IV drip with Key Basis IV

Pick your drip on the IV drip menu or your shots on Vitamin Injections Miami. Then book online or text us at 305-998-0047. A registered nurse from our own team comes to your home, hotel or office and gives you the shot or runs the drip there.

Your first appointment includes a $39 telehealth exam. The nurse sets up the device, and you talk with an off site nurse practitioner for about five minutes. You do the exam once per calendar year, and it is complimentary for members.

If you plan to book drips or shots regularly, non members can get 50% off by joining the membership for $80 a month. If you would rather look into a telehealth prescription for regular shots, keep an eye on Prescription Peptides in Florida. We plan to launch that by December.
